Seth Macfarlane’s “Festival Of The Dead” returns to theaters on February 8, 2021, the latest in a series of horror-themed animated films that debuted in 2016.
The film will be released in three different theatrical versions, which will be available on both home video and VOD.
This time, MacFarlanes version will feature the characters from his upcoming film, which is set to premiere at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
MacFarlane is the author of the film, a zombie-inspired tale about a young boy and his friends trying to save their town from a deadly zombie outbreak.
“The festival is full of great stories and characters, but this is my favorite one,” MacFarLANDS son, Seth, said in a statement to Variety.
A sequel to the film was announced in 2016 and was initially set to release in 2018, but has since been delayed to 2021.
Also starring Michael Sheen, Olivia Wilde, Adam Scott, Kevin Costner, Robert Englund, John Goodman, and Kate Mara, the film stars Seth Macdonald as a young man named Jason who, along with his friends, tries to get to the festival with a little help from a friendly zombie.
On top of the festival, the movie also stars Kristen Bell, Samara Blyth, and Mark Ruffalo.
“Festival is one of the best festivals in the world,” Macdonald said of the release.
“It’s a really cool event and it’s a great way to connect with fans.
As a family, we love to bring our favorite characters to the stage and share their stories.”
“As a fan of Seth MacDonald’s movies, we can’t wait to see what he has in store for the next instalment of the franchise,” he continued.
